FOUR MINUTES… that’s how long my 30 minute placement interview took this morning. Regardless, it actually went really well!
She explained that the call was to review portions of my application that she had questions about and that she really only had one for me. [yes!] It was all because my dad wanted me to put my preferences for Africa/French in my application, since that’s where I wanted to go, but I didn’t want to hurt my chances of getting placed, so I didn’t put any preference. I mentioned this to my recruiter thinking it would show my dedication. Fast forward a year – my PO now wanted to know how my family felt about me leaving and my nomination. I explained the conversation my dad and I had and she kinda laughed and was like “and then you got nominated for it!” [my sentiments exactly] Then she went on and explained that they have ‘halted’ sending out any new invites because they still needed to place everyone from C/SA region that was recently closed. She anticipated that she’d be able to send my invite in a month and that I was on the top of the list for a June invite! Score!
And so now we wait. Again. 🙂
